The Extraordinary Collector: A Tribute to My Father A small but very personal passion project about my father, VBD Eric, and his extraordinary collection. My journey as a filmmaker grew through the commercial industry — learning the craft, creating visuals, and playing with all the “toys” that filmmaking gives us. But sometimes, the strongest stories are much simpler. This film is about the human connection between a person and the objects they keep. Growing up, I was always intrigued by the supernatural and how stories are passed down through generations. Each object carries a story. And perhaps, these stories lead to something bigger. This documentary became the starting point for a feature I’m developing around Malaysian and Southeast Asian folklore and horror.

I've been spending some time bringing the world of **BETHELAR: NEW BEGINNINGS** to life visually, and I'm excited to share this early **cinematic proof of concept**. *Bethelar* is a YA fantasy adventure about a grieving orphan who discovers that he is the long-awaited child foretold in an ancient prophecy—the one destined to end the reign of two evil sisters and restore a kingdom before hope is extinguished forever. For me, developing a project goes beyond the screenplay. I'm always thinking about the world, characters, tone, audience, packaging, and ultimately how to communicate the vision to potential collaborators. This proof of concept was created using emerging AI filmmaking tools as a way to explore the scale, atmosphere, creatures, landscapes, and visual identity I've imagined for Bethelar. It's not intended to represent finished production footage, but rather a glimpse into the world I'm working to build.
